When you are to choose a school where you are to train for your nursing assistant certification test, you have to make sure that it is a quality school. Of course, you don’t train for nothing. You train for the very reason that you want to pass at the end of the day. More than that, you also choose the state where you are to get certified with the idea in mind that soon after you get your certification; you will be able to work on this state. Given this, there are a lot of those who are really against taking CNA training in Virginia. Most people would say that Virginia is not a good state for nursing assistants. Being one of the lowest paying states, it is just right for people to think this way.
In Virginia, you will only be paid $10.86 for your hourly service. This is way lower as compared to some other states where you can even get as high as $13 or $14. Well, if you think this is really a big problem, you are wrong. Take note that you do not just take a look at the amount that you will receive in your job. More than that, you also have to assure that you will get the job in the first place. In some other states, there might be a higher hourly wage, but there are a lot of unemployed nursing assistants. In Virginia, with the blown up demand for nursing assistants of about 14%, you definitely stand a chance at getting one. Thus, it is really best for you to get your CNA training in Virginia.
Another important thing that you have to consider is the lifestyle and cost of living. Even if you will not be paid really high in Virginia, you will not spend that much as well. Thus, your salary will just be all yours. You will also not pay high for your CNA training in Virginia as it is about 15% lower in all schools as compared to the majority of other schools in the country.
In short, despite the presence of these reasons, nothing should stop you from taking the CNA training in Virginia. It is the first step if you want to get certified and eventually land a job. Some others who chose other states might have passed the test, but were unable to find a job until this point of time.
